We at B.H. Tours greatly appreciate your interest in our Summer Tour, and offer you our heartfelt blessings that you succeed in all of your endeavors beyond your wildest imagination. The 9 day Tour will cover the cities of Venice, Murano Island, Paduva, Verona, Florence, and Rome, from Tuesday August 12th (departure from USA on Monday) until Thursday morning August 21st.
 
B.H.Tours applies a unique approach paired with extensive research to offer you an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience. The daily “full day” itinerary covers famous attractions and sites, as well as many “off the beaten track” sites, together with a special focus on the Jewish history connection to much that we see.
 
The Tour
 
Tour as a small intimate group, (maximum 25) learning about, and experiencing the sites, neighborhoods, and communities, while connecting to the glorious chain of history created by our ancestors.
 
The tour is all inclusive, 8 nights in luxurious centrally located hotels, (large rooms and suites available upon request), delicious local cuisine on a half board basis (breakfast and dinner) with packed lunches, travel within Europe, and a full day itinerary every day, including all entrance and attraction fees.
 
Highlights of the tour
 
  • The city of Venice, a museum by itself, leaving cars and buses behind
  • Artisan glass blowing demonstration, and viewing from the most beautiful glass art in existence 
  • Relaxing gondola ride through the back alleys (canals) of Venice
  • Medieval Old city of Paduva, and Kever of the Maharam Mi’Paduva
  • Birthplace of the Renaissance, and home of Michaelangelo, a Jewish sympathizer, in beautiful Florence
  • Arch of Titus, and Coliseum of Rome, both relics reminding us of the destruction of the Beis Hamikdosh 
  • Location of Jewish catacombs from the times of the second Beis Hamikdosh 
  • Interactive Italian cooking class, Italian pizza, and gelato
 
Itinerary 
 
Day 1 Tuesday 
  • Visit the world’s first Jewish ghetto and its spectacular Shuls 
  • Vaparetto ride down the Grand Canal 5th Ave of Venice
  • S. Marks Square, the largest piazza in Venice
  • Palace of the Doge
  • Enjoy a cocktail/smoothie on the main boulevard of Venice
 
Day 2 Wednesday 
  • Iconic Rialto bridge and market, once known as Jewish market
  • Mesmerizing La Fenice theatre 
  • Beautiful snail staircase of the Bovolo mansion
  • Artisan glass blowing demonstration in Murano
  • Glass museum Murano
 
Day 3 Thursday
  • Old Jewish cemetery of Paduva, and the shul likely used by the Ramchal
  • Paduva University from the 1200’s, of the only schools that allowed Jewish students 
  • Prato Delle Valle, from the largest squares in Italy surrounded by almost 70 statues and an island
  • Verona coliseum, built by the Romans, still in use today
  • Play set (movie set) of William Shakespeare in Verona

Day 4 Friday 
  • Relaxing gondola ride through the quiet picturesque canals of Venice
  • Arsenal of Venice, the symbol of power of the republic of Venice
  • Venice Naval museum
  • Join the Venetian community for davening in the breathtaking and historic Spanish Shul
  • Enjoy private Shabbos meals, with inspiring stories of the unique Jewish community in Venice in years gone by
 
Day 5 Shabbos 
  • Hear kriyas Ha’Torah from one of the oldest kosher sifrei Torah in the world 
  • Squeeze into the thinnest street in Venice
  • Cross over the bridge without a railing
  • Climb up a staircase of books
  • See the artistic façade of the hospital of Venice
  • Enjoy a delicious pizza party for melave malka 
 
Day 6 Sunday 
  • Old city of Florence the birthplace of the Renaissance 
  • Outdoor medieval sculpture museum, and Michelangelo statue of David (copy) by the Vecchio Palace 
  • Galileo science museum, some of his telescopes and his finger (???) is on display, amongst many historical scientific tools 
  • Magnificent Pitti palace and Bobli gardens 
  • The iconic Vecchio bridge with 4 floors of stores on top, and the secret passage of the Medici, rulers of Florence 
 
Day 7 Monday
  • The Medieval ghetto of Rome and its spectacular Shul and Jewish museum 
  • Neighborhood of Trastevere, the Jewish neighborhood in Roman times
  • Roman jail that held Shimon Bar Giora, one of the leaders of the revolt against Rome at the end of the 2nd Beis Hamikdosh 
  • Enjoy delicious Italian gelato (ice cream), pizza, gnocchi, and pasta
  • Cross the Tiber River over the oldest bridge in Rome, built over 2000 years ago 
 
Day 8 Tuesday 
  • Roman Coliseum, built by Jewish slaves with Jewish money from Yerushalayim 
  • Roman Forum, remains of downtown Rome and the Arch of Titus depicting the menorah and Jewish captives from Eretz Yisroel 
  • Location of where the menorah and other artifacts were on display for hundreds of years
  • Iconic Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, and a huge concrete dome from Roman times 
 
Day 9 Wednesday 
  • Location of Jewish catacombs from the times of the second Beis Hamikdosh, under the Mussolini mansion 
  • Capitolini museum, of the world’s oldest museum, designed by Michelangelo 
  • 2000 year old statue of one of the Jewish Caesars of Rome
  • Interactive cooking class of Italian cuisine 
  • Piazza Navona, the Renaissance angel bridge by Castle s. Angelo/Hadrian’s tomb with a view of the small country in Rome
