How TJT Got Started
TotallyJewishTravel.com was born from personal experience. In the late 1990s, two Jewish travelers struggled to find kosher food, Jewish communities, and nearby synagogues while exploring new cities. In the pre-smartphone era, there were no reliable directories for Jewish travelers. One of them discovered—only after Shabbat—that he had unknowingly stayed just a few blocks from a synagogue.
That frustration sparked an idea. Two pioneering websites—SederOlam.com and JewishRoutes.com—merged to become TotallyJewishTravel.com, offering the first-ever global, user-friendly directory for kosher travel and Jewish services.

Raphi Bloom – Sales & Marketing Director
With a background in publishing and marketing, Raphi launched JewishRoutes.com to digitize the Jewish Travel Guide. As demand for Passover programs and kosher vacation listings grew, he expanded the site’s offerings and helped shape TJT into a leader in Jewish travel.
