Woodmere is one of the Long Island communities known as the Five Towns, as of the census of 2010, there were 17,121 people. The population density was 6,700 people per square mile. Woodmere has a wet and cold winter, with a warm and moderately dry summer. The Woodmere railway station is on the Far Rockaway line and trains can take you to Penn Station for visits to New York City.
Woodmere and other nearby locations are proving more popular for young Jewish families, having good schools, good housing stock and being easily commutable to NYC.

JOFY, or "Jewish Observant Friendly" Establishments are lodging establishments offering special services for Jewish Observant guests such as Shabbat meals, accommodation on lower floors and regular keys for the rooms.
