From there we will continue through the Spanish Square to the Jewish Mountain, Montjuic, for a gorgeous view of the city below. After a visit to the Olympic Stadium, we will continue on a motorized tour through Colon Square – Columbus Boulevard and the promenade along the city’s old port towards the Ciutadella Park and Victory Gate. Listen to the tour guide and get excited about the masterpiece by artist Antonio Gaudi. As we enter the Ishmaela district, we look out over the houses of Casa Batllo, and of Casa Mila on the Peso de Garcia. We will continue our tour of the city itself and tour the ancient Gothic quarter of Barcelona, the Jewish Quarter and the Ancient Synagogue, ending on the famous Ramblers Avenue.
On this day you can choose between two attractive destinations
Option A – Tarragona and Cruise on Cambrils
Tarragona, the capital of Tarragona district, is now a bustling tourist town on the Mediterranean. We will stop on the way to view the Devil’s Bridge, the ancient Roman medieval aqueduct that served as a bridge over the valley. In the Old City we will visit the Roman ruins, ancient alleys and squares, see the location of the Old Jewish Quarter and visit the museum housed in the watchtower leading to the circus stands, where popular horse racing used to take place. We will look out to the Mediterranean and see the stadium where Gladiator fights and animal baiting were held during the Roman period. From there we will continue to the seaside resort of Cambrils, board a ship in the harbor and set sail for about an hour along the coast to the bustling town of Sloo.
Option B – An amusement park for families and children- Port Aventura Park
For families, children and all the young-at-heart, we will travel about an hour’s drive from the hotel to a very special theme park, with facilities suitable for all ages and some of the best rollercoaster rides in Europe. The park has five different ‘worlds’, divided by countries and continents, where you will find rides, performances and attractions for the whole family. The five worlds are: China, Polynesia, Mexico, the Far East and the Mediterranean which contain over 30 rides and hold more than 100 performances a day.
Costa Brava and the city of Girona
Today we will drive east to the Costa Brava outskirts sloping with a piranha landscape and lookout points at the top of the cliffs overlooking the sea. From there we will drive to the city of Girona (Girona in Spanish). An ancient city perched above a confluence of two rivers. We will wander the alleys between the walls, the Jewish remai
Montserrat
Take a stroll through the Montserrat mountain range, which means ‘the jagged mountain’, located in the center of Catalonia, not far from Barcelona. The ridge was declared a nature reserve and as such there are numerous hiking trails that expose the hiker to a rich world of flaura, fauna and wildlife. We will choose an easy hiking trail from which we can, among other things, look out over the Pyrenees and see the islands of Ibiza and Majorca from afar.
