Niagara Falls, one of the world's most captivating natural wonders, is a popular kosher vacation destination. Straddling the international border between the United States and Canada, this spectacle of nature attracts millions of visitors each year to marvel at its awe-inspiring grandeur. Connected by the iconic Rainbow Bridge, which offers breathtaking views of the falls and facilitates easy cross-border exploration, the U.S. and Canadian sides each present unique perspectives and experiences of Niagara. Regardless of which side you choose to explore, Niagara Falls promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Now, let's talk about the weather and the best times to visit. Niagara Falls is a year-round destination, each season offering a different yet equally captivating view of the falls. From the icy spectacle in winter, when the falls partially freeze into glittering formations, to the vibrant landscapes of spring and summer, there's never a 'bad' time to visit Niagara Falls. Although summer is undoubtedly the most popular time to visit due to warm weather and a multitude of outdoor activities, visiting during the off-peak seasons can offer a more peaceful experience. However, don't forget that even during the colder months, Niagara Falls remains a hive of activity.
We’ll cover where and when you can find kosher food and minyan at Niagara Falls, on both sides of the border. We’ll also discuss the various activities that await you in every season.

Kosher Food and Minyan at Niagara Falls
The Chabad Niagara Jewish Welcome Center is located on the Canadian side of the Falls. They operate a meat and dairy restaurant during the summer tourist season. The dairy restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 12pm to 6pm and the meat restaurant is open Sunday through Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm (kitchen closes at 8:20pm). Call ahead to order food to pick up or make reservations to dine in.
You can join Chabad Niagara for Shabbat meals during the summer months, with advanced registration. There is a daily minyan during the summer months. If you are visiting Niagara Falls during the off season, September to June, you can check the Chabad website to see if there is a minyan. The minyan is made up of tourists so it is possible to get minyan during the off season.
There is no Jewish community or kosher food on the American side of Niagara Falls. You can drive to the Chabad on the Canadian side but keep in mind that you will need passports to cross the border. The closest kosher food is in Buffalo, NY where there are a number of kosher shops and restaurants. Nissan’s kosher Deli and BK Gourmet offer kosher food and catering for Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. They are both about 20-30 minutes from Niagara falls so you can eat in or pick up food to take with you during the week and for Shabbat.
