Niagara Falls, one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders, has also become a favorite destination for kosher travelers. Sitting right on the border between the United States and Canada, this powerful spectacle draws millions of visitors each year, all eager to witness the sheer force and beauty of the cascading falls. The iconic Rainbow Bridge connects both sides, offering stunning views of the falls and making it easy for visitors to explore the attractions in both countries. Whether you stand on the American or Canadian side, you’re guaranteed a unique and unforgettable experience.
When it comes to timing your visit, Niagara Falls is truly a year-round destination. Each season brings its own magic. In winter, the falls transform into a sparkling, icy wonderland with dramatic frozen formations. Spring and summer showcase lush greenery and a full range of outdoor activities, while autumn offers crisp air and vibrant foliage. Summer is by far the busiest season, thanks to the warm weather and packed activity calendar, but visiting in the quieter months can be just as rewarding, with fewer crowds and a more tranquil atmosphere. No matter when you go, Niagara Falls never stops impressing.
In this guide, we’ll share where and when you can find kosher food and minyanim on both sides of the border, along with plenty of ideas for things to do in every season.

Kosher Food and Minyan at Niagara Falls
On the Canadian side, the Chabad Niagara Jewish Welcome Center operates a meat and dairy restaurant during the busy summer tourist season. The dairy restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the meat restaurant is open Sunday through Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (with the kitchen closing at 8:20 p.m.). It’s best to call ahead to order for pickup or make a reservation to dine in. Chabad Niagara also offers Shabbat meals during the summer with advance registration and holds a daily minyan during the season. If you’re visiting between September and June, check their website to see if a minyan is available. Since the minyan relies on visiting tourists, services may vary in the off-season.
On the U.S. side, Chabad Niagara Falls USA has recently opened to serve visitors. While there are no daily minyanim during the winter off-season, minyanim can sometimes be arranged if you spot their Mitzvah Tank Mobile Jewish Center, which operates around Niagara Falls State Park. Buffalo, about 20 minutes away, has an active Jewish community with daily minyanim at local shuls. It’s always wise to call ahead and confirm service times, especially for Shabbat and holidays.
There is no kosher restaurant or community-run kosher food in Niagara Falls, NY itself. However, visitors can cross the Rainbow Bridge into Canada (passports are required) to dine at the meat and dairy restaurants at Chabad Niagara on the Canadian side. Alternatively, Buffalo offers several kosher dining and catering options. Buffalo Kosher Deli and BK Gourmet are popular choices for fresh kosher meals and Shabbat takeout. Both are about 20–30 minutes from the Falls and make a convenient stop to stock up for your visit.
