West Hartford is a town located in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. Located 5 miles west of downtown Hartford, is an upmarket inner-ring suburb located in Greater Hartford. The population was 63,168 at the 2010 census. The town was incorporated in 1854. There are several parks in West Hartford including the world-renown Elizabeth Park rose gardens. There are also museums, sites of historical interest and good shopping streets.
West Hartford has all the amenities and institutions that Jewish families need. There is a Mikveh and Eruv, supermarkets with kosher bakeries and delis, Orthodox synagogues, the Sigel Hebrew Academy, and the Hebrew High School of New England (HHNE). There are 4 synagogues in the town, 1 mikvah and there are 1 or 2 kosher cafes and a few shops selling kosher items. Nearly 37,000 Jews live in Hartford, the largest number of these live in West Hartford.
