Since the announcement of a peace treaty between Israel the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in September 2020 there has been a marked increase in interest from Kosher travelers to visit the UAE.
It is now expected that many major hotel chains and worldwide kosher travel operators will offer kosher meals, kosher catering, specialized Kosher programs and even Passover Programs for the Jewish traveler.
Currently there are three kosher Restaurants or food venues in Dubai: Elli's Kitchen - a local kosher caterer supervised by the Orthodox Union (OU), Armani/Kaf inside the Armani Hotel, Dubai's first Kosher Restaurant - an exclusive kosher venue located in Burj Khalifa and Treat Kosher - a kosher catering service
The Armani Hotel Kosher Restaurant And Treat Kosher are supervised by Rabbi Levi Duchman, Chabad Rabbi Rabbi of the UAE, running EAKC - Emirates Agency for Kosher Certification, both are Glatt Le Mehadrin, Pat Yisroel meals.
The Armani Hotel is the first hotel in the UAE to operate as a kosher hotel, offering kosher meals and kosher take out for Shabbat. The Palace hotel will be offering Kosher Shabbat meals (Shabbat/Weekends only) and the Habtoor Palace will be hosting a Glatt Kosher winter sun program. In Abu Dhabi the first hotel to offer a kosher kitchen is The Armed Forces Officers Club. More kosher hotels to come soon..
The year 2020 was the first to host a public Sukkah which was built in front of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai on Thursday, October 1, ahead of the Sukkot holiday which begins at sundown on Friday.
The Sukkah was built to serve the guests of the Armani/Kaf Kosher restaurant and the Armani Hotel Kosher guests.
It was also the first Hanukkah public candle lighting which also took place in front of the Burj Khalifa and was conducted by Chabad of the Emirates
At the moment there several operators offering vacations and programs with kosher food in Dubai, and plans for Kosher Passover programs in Dubai are also in the move
However, for the independent kosher travelers we strongly recommend to prepare and make arrangements in advance, the demand for kosher food is very high and the current services are not able the serve all travelers seeking kosher food, definitely not spontaneous orders or bookings. So please make sure to reserve your kosher meals or seats in advance!
