Dover is a town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Located on the Rockaway River, Dover is about 31 miles west of New York City and about 13 miles west of Newark, New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the town's population was 18,157. Dover has cold winters an hot summers, with high rainfall and snow in winter. There are museums in the area, plus hiking and biking around the area.
The Jewish population of Morris County, of which Dover is in the centre of, is 33,500. Dover is a popular place for commuters to live. The history of Dover's Jews, who referred to themselves as a "group of Israelites," is found on the pages of original minute ledgers dated October 4, 1881. There are no synagogues in Dover, and also no kosher food in Dover.
