Beautiful 3 bedroom Swiss style chalet – sleeps 7
Our chalet is a beautiful Swiss style chalet in the French speaking Swiss alps. The nearest well-known town is Champery.
The chalet
- Has a small kosher kitchen ( only milky)
- Available for rent - April till mid December , – minimum 3 days.
- Available only for families who keep kosher.
- Stand alone, has a large garden, and near the center of the village
We prefer bookings from Tuesday to Tuesday

The chalet is located near Val d’Illiez and is part of the Portes du Soleil skiing area . Champoussin is a small village and our chalet is located 50m from the central bus stop and grocery store. Rue Sigma might not come up on Google maps. If so, look for Rue de Champoussin and the restaurant Le Poussin and our chalet is just below.
Flights to Switzerland: There are EasyJet flights to Geneva. The drive to the chalet takes 90 minutes non-stop. There are occasionally cheap flights to Lyon or Grenoble. Lyon is 3 hours and Grenoble 3.5 hours away.
Drive from Geneva: Go round the north side of lake Geneva and then head south along route 9 to the San Bernard pass. Turn off at Monthey, head for Val d’Illiez and then turn off for Champoussin/Le Croset.
Hiring cars: Economy Car rentals is as good as any. Budget 350-500 CHF for 7 days.
Transfer by other means: There are vans that you can book - https://gettransfer.com/. You can take a train from Geneva airport all the way to Val d’Illiez . It takes only 2 hours 20 minutes and costs around 55 CHF. From Val D’illiez one can take the 82 bus up the hill to Champoussin.
Kashrut and food
The kitchen is only milky. There is a kosher grill outside for meat. For meat meals, one has to eat with disposables. The kitchen itself is small and has full facilities including two coffee machines and raclette.
Every March the kitchen is koshered and the non-kosher kitchen implements and cutlery are completely replaced with kosher ones. Every late December they are switched back.
Food: I recommend you go to a hypermarket and buy food at the beginning of the trip. Cheapest is an Intermarche at la Chapelle d’abondance near Chatel, France, 30 minutes drive. Monthey in Switzerland is 22 minutes away and not that much more expensive.
The chalet.
The Swiss have made efforts for their resorts to be attractive not only in winter but also in summer. Swimming, walking, cycling, and adventure parks for the kids are available. Sleeping: There are 7 beds on 2 floors. In the basement there is a ski storage area, sauna, table tennis, and storeroom.
Facilities around: The chalet is located just 100m from a grocery store
Parking is reserved for our chalet ( it was previously called le Cyclamen) in the area close by. Walk 50m from the parking area to our chalet below.
Telecoms: There is WIFI and a smart TV .
Study: There is a table and a printer.

- Lake Geneva has excellent free swimming. Nearest swimming area is at Bouveret , 20 minutes’ drive.
- Beautiful pool at Champery.
