Athens – Athens is the capital of Greece. It was also at the heart of Ancient Greece, a powerful civilization and empire. The city is still dominated by 5th-century BC landmarks, including the Acropolis, a hilltop citadel topped with ancient buildings like the colonnaded Parthenon temple.
Santorini – Santorini (or Thera) is one of the most popular travel destinations worldwide and the most visited Greek island. Located on the southern side of the Aegean sea, Santorini in Greece is a part of the Cyclades islands group. The island was reshaped after a huge eruption of the volcano that occurred in the 17th century B.C. and formed the breathtaking caldera. The landscape of Santorini is definitely one of a kind!
Olympia – Katakolon – Katakolon is the gateway to Olympia, birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. A short drive inland brings you to the archaeological site, where you can walk among the ruins of temples dedicated to Zeus and Hera, the ancient stadium, and the training grounds where athletes once competed. The site is complemented by the excellent Archaeological Museum of Olympia, which houses treasures such as the statue of Hermes by Praxiteles.
Corfu – One of the most popular holiday destinations in Greece, Corfu is an island in the Ionian Sea known for its cosmopolitan Old Town, spectacular sandy beaches and beautiful landscapes.
Kotor – Montenegro – Kotor, set against a dramatic backdrop of fjord-like bays and steep mountains, is one of the most picturesque towns on the Adriatic. Its medieval Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is filled with narrow lanes, Romanesque churches, and Venetian fortifications. Walking the walls offers stunning views over the bay.
Split – Croatia – Split is Croatia’s vibrant coastal city, best known for the magnificent Diocletian’s Palace, a sprawling Roman complex that today forms the lively heart of the Old Town. Strolling through its stone alleyways reveals a mix of Roman, medieval, and Venetian architecture, alongside bustling cafés and markets.
Koper – Slovenia –Koper, Slovenia’s main port, sits on the Adriatic coast with a charming Venetian-influenced Old Town. Landmarks include the Praetorian Palace, the Cathedral of the Assumption, and lively Tito Square. With its mix of Italian and Slovenian culture, Koper offers a unique window into the history of the northern Adriatic.
Venice – Ravenna – Ravenna, the port for Venice, is famed for its exquisite Byzantine mosaics that decorate early Christian basilicas, earning it UNESCO World Heritage status. Venice itself, accessible from Ravenna, is a city unlike any other: canals instead of streets, gondolas, and iconic landmarks such as St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and the Rialto Bridge.
