Ski Areas:
Maloja is located at an elevation of 1,800m, and the complex's highest mountain peaks reach 3,300m. This affords the ski site of St. Moritz more than six months of skiing each year. The region has more sunny days than any other ski region in Europe.
The town has a skiing school with ski-lift. The first ski lift in the mountains on the right side of the valley is located 5 km from the hotel (Furtschellas) and the next lift is at Corvatsch. The first ski lift on the left side of the valley (Suvretta) is 10 km from the hotel and the next lift is at Signal, at the entrance to St. Moritz. This lift serves the famous ski areas of Corviglias and Celerina, among others.
The valley of Engadin also has many cross country ski trails, some of which run close to the hotel. Every year in March, Engadin holds a cross country ski marathon which begins at the entrance to the hotel. Holders of area ski passes are entitled to free public transportation buses which stop by the hotel and which drop passengers at the various lifts & cable cars. Special arrangements have been made allowing the purchase of multi-day ski passes at a one-day per week reduction, for those who do not ski on Shabbat.
