Locanda del Ghetto is a 3 star Hotel and we have 9 rooms in total: 5
doubles, 2 triple and 2 Junior Suites with balcony that can be prepared for 4 persons.

The inn has been recently extended and modernised and occupies the buildings under the Italian School, in Campo del Ghetto.

The rooms are located in a building that dates from the Fifteenth Century, successively altered during the course of the Sixteenth Century when the synagogue was built. Diners are reminded of these ancient origins by the decorated beams and the hearths that can still be seen in some rooms.

The Locanda al Ghetto is one of the few Venetian inns to have a lift . Internet points and continental breakfasts complete the range of services offered by this small inn.

All our rooms have private bathroom (shower or bathtub), air conditioned, safe, minibar and satelite TV. They can have view on the Canal or on the Ghetto square.

Our prices go from a minimum of Euro 90 to a maximum of Euro 230 (it depends on the season, mid-week or week-end) and include breakfast and taxes.

We serve Kosher breakfast for what it concern the food (bred and croissants) because we buy it directly from the Kosher bakery.

We even follows the Shabbat rules.

We are located in the centre of Campo del Ghetto Novo (Cannaregio) nr.2892/93.

This is the only Venetian inn to be situated in the heart of the Ghetto, the island where the Venetian Jewish community were confined, in the Fifteenth Century, The name of this island comes from the Venetian dialect word ghèto (throw) which serves to remind us of the presence of a foundry here into which metals were thrown. This small Venetian island thus gave its name to a word that is commonly used in all languages. Today Venice's Ghetto, which is located near to the Santa Lucia Railway Station, is one of the few locations in the lagoon city to have preserved its ambience and fascination intact.

Situated opposite the Campo del Ghetto, the Inn's residents are within easy reach of the Synagogues, the Jewish Museum and the Rio Terà San Leonardo, part of one of most popular walks in the city, with plenty of typical shops and restaurants.

Arriving by plane at Marco Polo Airport in Tessera you can choose:

1) The fly bus ,belonging to the company A.T.V.O.,which performs a
regular line service as far as Piazzale Roma and costs about EURO 2,5 per person. From P.le Roma you can take boat line 1or 82 stop S.Marcuola (casinò) or line 42 or 52 stop Guglie.

2) Shared water taxi service, from Alilaguna desk located at the arrivals hall. It costs 25,00 EURO per person and it takes you to the Guglie stop near our hotel (Less than 2 minutes by foot from the Hotel). It departs every 25-55 minutes each hour. This service is available only if you inform us 5 days before your arrival.

3) Water taxi that arrives just in front of our hotel (near Ponte del Ghetto
Nuovo),we can suggest you a transfer with an hostess who will be in front of
the gate waiting for you and bring you till our hotel going with the boat
across the lagoon.It costs EURO 80.

If you arrive by train at S.Lucia railstation:

1) Pubblic waterbus line 52 or 42 untill Guglie stop. From this stop you can reach our hotel in less than 2 minutes by foot.

2) Public waterbus line 1 or 82 untill S.Marcuola (casinò) stop and from there 4/5 minutes by foot.
