The rich Jewish heritage in Morocco will be explored and studied during the trip. A leading Talmid Chacham and scholar: Ha'Rav Dr. Nosson Dovid Rabinowich , professor of Medieval Jewish History , noted author and teacher, will accompany the tour and serve as Rav, Mashgiach, Lecturer and "Jewish" guide. The personable and knowledgeable local tour guides will help the group appreciate this land of contrasts, known for its magnificent imperial cities, palaces, mosques, exquisite gardens, colorful markets, white sandy beaches, rich culture and history, archeological wonders and hospitable people.

The summer and spring in South Africa ( = our fall and winter) are considered the better times of the year to go on a safari in the world famous Kruger or Chobe National Park. It is, therefore, no surprise that many reservations have been made for one of our many different itineraries during these upcoming seasons in 2010 . As on all Jewish Heritage tours, a leading Talmid Chacham and scholar, Rabbi Dr. Nathan David Rabinowich, will accompany the tour. He will be supervising the high standard of Kashrut, deliver the Daf Yomi, lecture about the fascinating history of Lithuanian Jewry in South Africa and help the group appreciate the wonders of the jungle and its inhabitants according to our Holy Torah and its interpreters, our wonderful sages.
The personable and knowledgeable local tour guides and rangers will help the group appreciate this exquisite land, magnificent jungles, white sandy beaches, rich culture and history, archeological wonders and hospitable people. An enjoyable Shabbat of well-deserved rest and study can be spent in Glenhazel, the home of the largest Shomer Shabbat community in South Africa. Sunny Spain / Gibraltar: July 4 - 12 (2010)
This very popular tour enables you to visit the major "Jewish" cities during the "Golden Age of Jewry" while Jewish Heritage Tour's personable and knowledgeable local guides will teach you the secular history of Spain and help you appreciate its art, museums and unappreciated architecture . An unforgettable Shabbat is spent praying, eating and singing Zemirot in the beautiful Shomer Shabbat community of Gibraltar. In addition to these cities, Lucena, a city not found in your standard "Jewish" Spain itineraries but, probably, the oldest Jewish settlement in Spain and the final home of Rabbeinu Yitzchak Alfasi (11th century), will be visited. A very thorough overview of Spanish Jewish history and an in-depth appreciation of its various rabbis & leaders will be offered by a serious scholar, Rabbi Dr. Nathan David Rabinowich. We will be visiting : Toledo (Rosh,Tur, Ramah[Abulefia family]); Cordova ( Chasdai Ibn Shaprut), Rambam Rebbe Yehudah HaLevi); Granada (Rav Shmuel Ha'Nagid); Malaga (Ibn Gvirol);Seville (Ritva , Abravanel family) and so many more cities. Dr. Rabinowich is known not only as an excellent Talmid Chacham but also as a leading historian, with his specialty: the Geonic and Medieval Periods. He will also serve as your "Jewish" guide.
Magnificent Italy : 7/25 - 8/3 and 8/22 - 8/31 (2010)
Due to popular demand, Jewish Heritage Tours will once again be sponsoring two Italy excursions this summer - a fascinating and exciting learning experience.
This very popular tour enables you to visit the major "Jewish" cities during the classical and medieval eras , with personable and knowledgeable local tour guides to help you learn about its secular history and appreciate its unique culture, art and architecture. An unforgettable 3 days will be spent in enchanting Venice , as guests of Chief Rabbi Elya Richetti and the Venetian community, residing in what has been documented as the first Jewish ghetto, es tablished in 1516. Additional highlights of these tours include: a private tour of the "Jewish Vatican," an opportunity to pray at the gravesites of the Abravanel and Maharam Padua (d. 1565), an excursion to Lido, to what is probably the second oldest existing cemetery in Europe (earliest tombstone: 1389 !), excit ing evening tours of Rome, a most enchanting evening in Como overlooking one of the most beautiful and serene lakes in Italy and a shopping spree in Milan, the fashion capital of Italy. The Italian Jewish history lectures, the Daf Yomi (all voluntary) and on-site comments will be offered by a serious scholar, Ha'Rav Dr. Nosson Dovid Rabinowich, who is known not only as an excellent Talmid Chacham but also as a leading historian, with a specialty in the Geonic and Medieval Eras.
As on all Jewish Heritage tours, two delicious glatt kosher gourmet meals and a filling lunchbox are served daily by local excellent restaurants under very strict supervision and all land travel is with ultra-modern buses. The hotels are all of an excellent quality and close to the restaurants and Jewish areas. As is the case with all Jewish Heritage tours, special attention will be made to accommodate singles. A reasonable extension (only $850) to Israel is also available before and after all the tours.
