Who are we?
Organización Hafikoman was created to fill the need for a Kosher-for-Passover retreat; originally for the Jewish community of Mexico, and today 4 years later for an international clientele. We have had various attendants from the United States and Canada in previous years.
For more than 11 years, Lety and Beny Zlochisty have worked in the tourist industry, organizing many types of events for businesses and other groups, such as conferences, retreats, organized trips to Israel, school trips, etc. We have always had one objective: the complete satisfaction of our customers' needs.

The Hotel Dorado Pacífico is located in "El Palmar" beach in the resort of Ixtapa, about 10 minutes from the town of Zihuatanejo and 20 minutes from the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo International Airport. Ixtapa Zihuatanejo
Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is located 150 miles NW of Acapulco, in the "Costa Grande" region of the state of Guerrero, Mexico. This area is known for the steep slopes from the Sierra Madre mountains towards the ocean, and the beautiful valleys in between these slopes. Numerous rock formations and bays can be found between Point El Faro and Point Ixtapa, where the beaches of this tourist resort are located. The area has 15 miles of coastline, 2 miles of beaches in Zihuatanejo, and 4 miles of beaches in Ixtapa.
Ixtapa rose to prominence in the tourist landscape in the last 10 years, as a carefully planned, ecologically friendly development that includes five-star hotels, a marina for 500 crafts, beaches, and locations designated for fishing.
The beaches of the area of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo are the main tourist attraction of this area, and every year thousands of tourists enjoy the clear, warm and calm water, the fine golden sand, and tropical climate. These beaches are ideal for relaxing, sun bathing, enjoying the views and the sea breeze, and for fun activities.
The most popular beaches of Zihuatanejo Bay are: Playa Municipal, La Madera, La Ropa, and Las Gatas. Boats are available for rent, as well as diving lessons.
Religious program
We have a ballroom that will function as a synagogue, complete with Sifrei Torah, Siddurim, and Chumashim. We will also provide Passover Haggadot for the two Seders and Bentchers for all meals.
A chazan will be part of the communal seders and the daily services.
There will be daily shiurim (classes) available for those interested.
You can choose to be part of the communal seders or to have your own private seder (please make arrangements in advance).
There will be both Ashkenazi and Sephardic services available (depending on demand).
Candles for Shabbat and Yom Tov will be available for lighting in a designated area.
One elevator will be run by an attendant during Shabbat and Yom Tov.
The room locks are opened with regular keys, not electronic.
The hotel has an Eruv certified by the rabbi.
There will be rabbinic supervision throughout the event.
Food and Drinks
All food is strictly supervised at the highest standards of Kashrut. You will enjoy the best traditional foods of the season under the expert certification of mashgichim authorized by the Vaad Ha-Kashrut of the Ashkenazi community.
The cuisine will have variety and an international flare: Yiddish, Sephardic, Israeli, Mexican, etc. The food will contain no kitnyot (rice, beans and legumes not eaten by Ashkenazim during Passover).
Shabbat and Yom Tov dinners will be served by the waiters; all other meals will be buffet style.
There will be a light breakfast on Yom Tov days, and a large seudah (meal) for Kiddush.
We have a "coffee bar" with cookies, chocolates, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and fresh fruit available most of the day.
A snack bar will be available for your enjoyment by the pool from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. It will feature french fries, popsicles, fresh fruit, vegetables, alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and bottled water.
If you need a lunch to-go during the intermediate days of the festival (Chol HaMoed), we will gladly prepare for you a box lunch upon advance request.
Youth Activities
Our program includes a "mini-camp" for children 3-13 years old.
Among the activities included are: soccer, baseball, handball, beach volleyball, pool aerobics, pool basketball, contests at the beach, etc.
We have a qualified staff of camp counselors who will be in charge of the care of your children while providing fun and educational activities.
The counselors have prepared activities for the whole family, such as painting, pottery, dancing, singing, theater, including Shabbat and Yom Tov activities. There will be prizes and fun surprises for everyone!
Entertainment
We will provide backgammon, chess, ping pong, dominoes, bingo, and many other board games.
During the intermediate days of Passover (Chol HaMoed) we will have wonderful nightly activities for the whole family: casino night, live music, dinner at the beach, karaoke, etc.
Ixtapa has many interesting places you can explore during the day, and fun activities: the marina, Ixtapa island (for snorkeling by the beach), fishing trips, cycling routes, crocodile farm, swimming with the dolphins, jet ski rental, parasailing, banana boat rides, etc. These activities are not included in the cost of our program.
We will have a selection of movies for adults and for children during Chol HaMoed.
If you need a box lunch to go, we will gladly prepare it for you upon your kind request in advance.
